Accessibility

Here at CKD, we recognise and and value the importance of making our website as available and accessible as possible, to all. Our purpose is to make better things and in doing so, make things better for all.

What is accessibility?

Making a website accessible means that the tools and technologies used are designed and developed to ensure everyone, regardless of ability, can perceive, understand, navigate, and interact with the website.

Web accessibility also benefits users regardless of the device or technology they use, their level of familiarity or comfort with that technology, and the situation or location they are visiting the website from.

Accessibility features on our website

Here’s a few of the things we’ve ensured our website does in order to improve accessibility:

  • CO2 Toggle: This switches the website to black & white mode, improving text contrast (whilst being better for the planet too by reducing your CO2 footprint and making access from areas with poor internet speed/bandwidth easier)
  • Images: Alt text descriptions are provided in order to make visual content accessible
  • Compatibility: We have built the website in a way that assumes there is no standard device, or information user – enhancing accessibility for all regardless of their ability or method when visiting our website
  • Navigation & language: We have ensured the language used and navigation of our website is clear and simple throughout and presented in a logical order
  • Design: We have ensured the design and layout of our website is clear and logical

Make things better

We aim to achieve high levels of accessibility across our website and maintain those levels in a consistent and timely manner. We recognise that improvements in levels of accessibility are always possible, and welcome any feedback from our users to help us make things better.
